So frustrated

16 yr had an exam under anesthesia today for increasing pain in bottom and bad smell. Doc said they didn't see any new abscesses or fistulas. Still has one seton in place. Any ideas on smell and pain. Her seton was not bothering prior to this. It really smells like a dead animal. What does C Diff smell like? Doc suggested testing stool. My daughter is devastated. She says she is hurting.

Where is the pain? Could it be that the seton is just rubbing the wrong way or the knot is stuck?

is it the drainage that smells bad? No chances of a female infection?

I had C.diff. The only odor was with a bowel movement. Has she been on long term antibiotic therapy or in a hospital lately?

I would guess that the existing tract ay be clogged, it happens. One gets more tender and increased pain when this occurs, I know.
