One thing I have a problem retaining is soda or any other carbonated drink. Let me back it up a bit to say that I had 28cm of intestine removed almost three years ago and I'm Illeumless too! Any thoughts why it goes through me so quick, of course everything does so I guess it's a no brainer, lol!

well, carbonated beverages are one of the things anyone with a compromised GI tract should avoid by default. Adding more gas (like from carbonation) to your GI system just fuels the fire, puts un-necessary stress on it, and of course, the 'gas' just forces things to travel thru the system faster (usually the last thing we need)

Yea it's a real downer as I'm a carbonated fan!!!

Soda has no good attributes as far as a food goes. It is no good for anyone with or without Crohn's. I still love to have a Coke once in a while. Soda does not seem to affect me, but the sugar is not good for anything.

I try to drink things that have some redeeming qualities most of the time.
