Hi,

I'm now 6 months post op and as certain foods are coming back into my diet I am finding they are upsetting my stomach, not in the pain way, just my stomach not feeling right and more wind, only lasts about a day then everything's back to normal again. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this before.

I had an ilocolic resection on 25th July and am in remission.

Some foods aggravate different people and you may be sensitive. I find a food diary is helpful to log your reactions.

I had an extended right hemi in 2004 and surgery to sort fistulas in 2005. Since surgery, fibre and high fat for me is a mare. I could only eat a small portion of carrots and the odd bit of fruit like melon, peaches, pear (no skin). High fat stuff also upsets me. I have recently had a flare and this is settling now I am back on humira but the smallest bit of fibre I have makes my stomach bubble and a develop a lot of wind. I had a small portion of steamed to death carrots yesterday evening and I had a lot of discomfort all evening and night. I definitely need to invest in a good quality multivit and mineral as veg and salad stuff make me a bubbly mess.

Food diary keeping is very useful.

I think everyone has foods that don't agree with them, you just have to work around it.

I can't eat gluten or oats (celiac, I also react to oats the same way) and I can't eat any meat, raw veggies, most cooked veggies, corn, rice, (rice cakes are ok, just not actual whole rice) drink milk, or eat any nuts or seeds. They all cause pain, diarrhea or constant gas. And I'm in remission lol. Fun stuff.

Probable just sencitivity isn't it. Im happy the stuff that I! Sensitive to is stuff I'm not fussed on at least. I remember seeing something about sensitivity somewhere else once but can't remember where.

I am post-op as well.I have been slowly introducing foods since my surgery on 11-29-13.I have belched on some foods but otherwise had no ill affects. I tread cautiously and hope for the best.I am fortunate to have access to local organic dairy and meats as well as veg.I have had a couple flare ups but am doing good.
