Some test results

My little girl has some of her test results back from her initial visit to GI. I was quite confident she did not have any constipation, but an abdominal x-ray showed otherwise. The GI had told me kids sometimes have "hidden constipation," and apparently she does. He recommended she start Miralax.

All the labs are normal, but most of the Basic Metab. panel have results that are exactly on a limit. For instance, potassium is 4.7 (with 4.7 the upper limit of normal); chloride is 106 (107 is the upper limit of normal); carbon dioxide blood is 25 (upper limit is 26); and creatinine is .52 (where the lower limit of normal is .52).

I'm concerned that so many results are right on the border. Any thoughts or experiences?

Her intense nausea has finally transformed into vomiting. I cannot wait to get the scopes done, so hopefully, we can start some sort of treatment.

No worries mom227, I deleted the other post for you.
Jack's test have almost always been normal except for FC which is only slightly elevated but there is still tons of inflammation in his small intestine. Sorry she is experiencing vomiting. Hope scopes happen quickly and she can be on a path to some relief

On some levels my Grace is high but on others she low.
The thing to do is keep a chart of her labs and start charting.
This way you can see her trend. Some kids will run high on levels and others low.
You just have to see what your kid does.

Does your doctor know about her vomiting?

Thank you, Farmwife! That's very helpful. GI doesn't know about her vomiting. Should I call his office? They aren't local. We see her ped. tomorrow, and I was going to ask about Zofran or something to help her get to her scope w/o too much dehydration/malnutrition and also to see about a referral to rheum.

We always call with new different or questionable symptoms .
That way the GI can decide what may need done.
Often they send us to the ped who then speaks with the Gi .

Good luck
