Son is about to be taking off 6mP while on Remicade

Just a little nervous that our Dr. suggested that my son be taken off of the Imuran that he has been on for two years. We have been on Remicade since July 2014 and have finallly received relief from Crohns flare-ups. Anyone have any insight on what to expect? Thanks for any input

I know the feeling. I am also on remicade, pentasa and imuran. I was told i wpuld have to wein off imuran also because it has shown imuran and remicade togetjer can cause lynphenmia (spelt wrong i know).

The craziest thing is we decided to wait a lil longer to see if we can get the remicade to het my body aches less ...and now my blood work is shpwing high MCH and low RBC and borderline WBC and borderline MCV. i am hoping anemia...and not lynphnomia since the number and not terriably high and low.

O..ans the lynphnomia was first discovered in young teen males...

When I started remicade, I was on that with 6mp....I went off the 6mp a couple years into it, and have been on remicade alone now for a few years with no issues.

I tired 6-mp and it did not work with my body, I am only on Remicade (well on steroid too but weaning off it) I will say that once I started remicade I feel 100% better! I have only had 1 treatment (next one is Tuesday), my bladder pain is gone, I am now regular BM, Not abdominal pain! I actually feel normal! =) Good Luck to your son!!!!

I did hear that 6-mp and remicade can cause lymphoma in young adults.
