Anyone had Prednisone side effects?

I think I am experiencing side effects of Prednisone. What happens to me are sore mouth and breathing problems. I was talking to my doctor and he told me to stop using it right away.

I was just wondering if anyone of you had similar side effects?

Thanks.

Hi, SamirM!

What dosage are you on at the moment? Are you having any other side effects, or have you noticed any other changes in your health since you started the Prednisone? When you say sore mouth, do you mean sores in your mouth or something else?

I personally didn't have either of those side effects, but I have heard of it happening to others.

I started with small dosage off 20 mg and my doctor said that we will raise it to 40 mg in a few weeks, but after a week or so, I start feel pain in mouth (thank to God no sores, but it may lead to it he said), and breathing problems, he decided to quit this therapy and start with budesonide. I'm going on Thursday to visit him, and will know more. I was just curious if anyone had similar side effects. I did some research on the forum, and found some great valuable information.

I dont have the soreness but my eyes need time to focus as well as climbing the walls.I cannot sit still nor sleep. Oh, and hunger! I am on maitnanace dose being tapered after hospital discharge. Had this same experiance when I was on it 2 years ago. Best of luck.

Yup, I had a weird experience w/stuff "growing" on my tongue. I think it whacks out the bacteria in your mouth. I know that doesn't sound very scientific, but that's my experience. I used a tongue-scraper to knock that back a little.
Worse than that, I had "steroidial induced psychosis" when I started it. I thought I was just going nuts but evidently there's a name for it.
