My son has been on Remicade for 1 year and we've dealt with bumps on legs, that took about 3 months to clear. Now he has a bump on his gum - bright red around outside and white puffy bump in middle. X-ray at dentist says not a problem with the nerve/root. Could this be a Crohn's/Remicade thing? Waiting for call back from the GI.

Treating with baking soda/water paste and it resides. You think it's gone, but if not treated for a couple days it reappears only to disappear quickly with treatment.

Anyone experienced anything like this?

Sorry no but could it be a cold sore type thing? How is his b12? Do you use SLS (Sodium Laurel Sulphate) free toothpaste? SLS has been linking to various sore issues in the mouth as has b12 deficiency.

So it's not a mouth ulcer?

My son is getting BAD mouth ulcers like Dusty's picture.

crohnsinct we use a homemade toothpaste. We love it and it helps my hubby clear from his mouth ulcers but not my farm boy.

Has he been tested for any Vit B deficiencies?

Before I knew my son had Crohn's he was plagued with them and after much research I decided to start him on a B Complex supplement. It did clear them up.

I get what the picture looks like I woke up this morning with them on my throat I am on Humira my dr said that it could be the Crohn's and or side effect from Humira!!!

I use to get them when I was a teenager but I grew out of them~mostly. When you get mouth sores like that it usually means you are beginning or in the middle of a flare as mouth sores are manifestations of the disease. I would recommend he use a mouth wash mixed with hydrogen peroxide and water. That is the best debridement money can buy hands down.

I would go for a B Complex over a multivitamin. Dexky's lad also uses a mouthwash but I can't for the life me remember what it is called so hopefully now that he is tagged he will be along to tell you. :)

Yep, with the B-vits, that's what we did. We used Scope White but haven't been able to find that in the store for a while now. My son hasn't had any more mouth ulcers(knock on wood) recently. He is still fairly conscious of mouth hygiene but just uses regular Scope. Good luck!
