Sore scalp/hair loss

Hi all,
Has anyone experience having a VERY sore scalp and extra hair shedding while on Aza? MY head is so tender and it has been this way for a few weeks. I think the link is to Aza?? I've been on it for 2 months now to help boost efficacy of Cimzia.

I didn't experience tenderness, but I did experience hair loss from Imuran. It eventually stopped after I'd been on it for a few months.

Definitely starting to notice a bit of hair loss after being on Imuran for about three months... A lot more hair in the comb... No head tenderness though. Nice to hear that it was temporary for you, theOcean.

I get the same, sore scalp and hair loss, I haven't been on it for more than 4 or 5 months at a time but everytime I'm taken of Aza though the hair loss stops.

Yeah, I actually lowered my dose (without permission initially because it upset me so much, although I did contact my GI about it) to 50mg when I was supposed to be at 150mg, and once I did that the hair loss stopped. Every time I went higher than that it would start again.

I hope it stops soon... or I'm going to discontinue as I'm not really seeing great results anyway.

I was just thinking about how I've been eating a lot of gelatin, and I think it might help. Gelatin is supposed to be good for hair and nails...And healing for the gut too! I use Great Lakes gelatin and make it with organic 100% grape juice.

I get the hair loss on both pred & 6MP.
After about 6 months off both meds it started to grow back - and it grew back super curly!
Unfortunately now back on the 6MP and hair is falling out again.
It also comes with malabsorption that happens during a flare.
