sorting out side-effects

I have been on oral prednisone now for a week and a few days at 40 mg/day (was 60 mg, but GI doc said, "lets get you off this crap"). While I am now much more able to eat, and have fairly normal bm's, I feel almost constant nausea, like I could throwup. I also have been feeling this odd sort of dizzyness, like my muscles are weak and shaky and I could easily fall. But, I am mostly functioning very well. I am just wondering if others have experienced these things along with prednisone. I didn't feel this way before. I suppose my gut may still have some lingering c. diff infection (flagyl ended yesterday).

The dizzyness will go away, I felt very dizzy at first when I started. I'm sure your nausea will too, prednisone has many side effects, they are different for everyone. I've been on it since January, I have had the dizzyness in the beginning, increased appetite, mood swings, restlessness, etc....can't wait to get off it!!

 

[Miss Underestimated]

It can make your blood sugar go up real high, but most people feel kind of giddy/happy from it, not so much dizzy. Drink lots of water.

I just started pred today for my 2nd time this flare. This is actually my 3rd time on prednisone total. I get pretty nauseas at first when I start and takes time for it to go away. In some ways I kinda enjoy the weight I put on while on it because I've always been underweight for my age. As far as the moon face, it didn't totally go away until I was all the way off the stuff. And, even then it did take me a bit.
