My periods are VERY regular...like to the day regular. But, in the last year or so I have been having spotting from just before ovulation till before my period. It usually happens if I exercise or can even happen if I do a lot of walking. I know you can get spotting from extreme stress or strenuous exercise, but I wouldn't consider any of it extremely stressful/strenuous. Basically it is discharge that is pink or sometimes kind of brown. Not a lot and lasts for a day or two...not related to ovulation I think because I get cramping and discharge then too.

Do you think this could be related to Crohns at all? I had all my hormones tested when we were trying to conceive and I do have slightly elevated FSH. Too young for menopause, but infertile. All my physical exams on the cervix, uterus and tubes came out great too.

I feel like my GI knows nothing about my lady bits and my gyno doesn't even consider the effects off Crohns so they both think I am just worrying about odd things. Could my body be so jacked up from Crohns now that I can't even exercise without it stressing my body????

Oh I forgot to mention I am in a sort of remission (just need a colonoscopy to verify status of inflammation) - all blood tests good and symptoms are minimal.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't heard of something like this being directly related to Crohn's. A more common problem is Crohn's causing weight loss which in turn leads to irregular periods or no periods. Exercising can lead to these things as well, and if it's combined with malnutrition and weight loss, the exercise may not need to be strenuous to lead to problems.

If you're not underweight/losing weight and not severely unwell from Crohn's, I wouldn't have thought it a Crohn's issue. Unless you're on any meds that can mess up hormones? I think some Crohn's meds can.

Have you been tested for vaginal infections? That's usually the cause of discharge. What you describe doesn't sound the right colour for infection discharge (which would be yellow/white). I would think your gynaecologist would be the one to ask about this rather than your Crohn's doctors.

My gyno has only ever said that I am yeasty...lol. I have only ever had one yeast infection though. The fertilty dr never seemed concerned with it...said it wasn't a lot so no problem. It's almost like after I had lost my period (when I was sick and lost a lot of weight) it never went back to the way it was. Incidentally I have terrible PMS at times and cramps from hell! I have heard there are herbs that can help with that, but not sure if I should go that route. Just think it's odd that even just walking on the treadmill can cause spotting. Maybe my uterus just hates exercise...haha.
