Started Imuran a few weeks ago-

Hi. Started imuran May 28 along with 9mgs of entocort. Wondering how long the bad side effects take to start if im going to experience them? I started at 50mgs and am increasing to 150mgs. At 50mgs for the first two days i felt a little dizzy but since then feel great. No issues. im suppose to increase another 50 bringing me to 150 tomorrow. I start to taper off entocort july 1st. My concern is after i taper i will have no benefit from the imuran. When ppl have these horrible side effects do they know right away or is it after awhile? thanks, Kelly

Here's hoping your steroid taper goes OK And that you don't have any side effects from the Aza. A couple of things. Aza can take 2 to 3 months to fully kick in. If you do get symbols coming back, they might up your steroid again for a wee while.
I don't think there's a standard time for side effects from Aza. It varies from person to person - and some folks have been on it for years with none at all.

For me, I was on 50mg for a week, 100mg for a week with no issues at all and then the first day I went up to 150mg I began severe vomiting. It was within two hours of taking the pills. I had two weeks off them and then took 50mg once and was very sick again. I am now off them permanently.
