Hi everyone. Many of you may already know but 2 months ago I have a fistula removed and had a resection done.

Anyways I literally have no symptoms of Crohns and I can easily gain weight etc...

Yesterday my GI put me on Humira. My blood tests came back the same day my wbc was 3.89. Haemoglobin was 135. My question though is something else. When I have no symptoms at all etc... how will the GI know if Humira is working for me or not?

I am not sure. Maybe the resection put you in remission. Maybe the doctor might use Humira to keep your body on the right track.

But that's the thing. I had no symptoms even before surgery. So I'm confused on how the doctor will know if Humira is working.

The dr will run regular blood tests, fecal calprotectine and eventually a colonoscopy to monitor your disease activity. There is no test to know if a medication is working or if it will work for you. There are only those tests I mentionned to know if the disease is in control or not. If the disease is under control, we then assume the medication is working.
