Hi everyone,
I thought I would start posting as often as I can on this forum as all the advice and help on here is amazing!
I'm 14 and last year I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I was taken into hospitals about four times before that with severe pain in my stomach and swelling of my joints, mainly my foot. I would be in hospitals for sometimes weeks at a time but still the doctors found nothing, until the end of last year when I was diagnosed with Crohns and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
So far I have been on a liquid diet, Methotrexate injections, oral Methotrexate and now Azathioprine. The liquid diet didnt work for me, and both Methotrexates made me feel sick for a while before and about a day after I took it. Now I have started on a new medicine which doesn't help my joints, only my crohns.
Hopefully this is just until I have surgery in October. I am having 25cm of my bowel removed to get rid of scarring from the Crohns. After that hopefully I will be on Infliximab infusions which will help my joints and my Crohns. Although I will have to take off a day of school each month and since I am going into my GCSE year this isn't ideal. But you gotta do what you gotta do!
Thank you to whoever reads this just for taking the time to read about it, it means a lot!
