I came of my prednisone, and I am on Uceris now. But that is not the steroids im talking about, Im curious if anyone is on REAL steroids. Like Testosterone injections.

I have lost so much weight, and im so weak and lost so much muscle, that I almost want to do a 12 week cycle of test 250 @ 500mg every week, IM injections, maybe with some HCG on top of it.

Has anyone delt with real steroid use while having crohs? I was going to bring it up to my GI Doc but im sure he is going to say lets get you healthy first, But I want to do this purely for cosmetic reasons, I want to put on so muscle again, Fast.

I would of course, get it legally though an endo, or an anti-aging clinic. - Just I would be doing a much higher dose then the 100mg each week that a normal patient would be taking.

Just curious what people's thoughts are on this topic, or if people have personal experience.

Would they be able to legally give you steroids? Testosterone I know you can get but I'm not sure they would. I always wondered if testosterone injections would help me fight off some of my fatigue.

I know that you can legally see an "endocronologist?" or go to an anti-aging clinic, and yes, they can prescribe testosterone to people with low test levels. The normal dosing is 100mg each week which would def help with fatigue, as well and strength and overall well-being. However, for body building, or muscle growth, you need to take 5 times the standard amount. Most places will not offer that. - There are ways around that however. But that's for a private discussion.

Im more interested if there are any people with crohns that have done testosterone with no adverse side effects. (Other then the standard hair loss, acne, aggression, etc.. as a direct result from the testosterone)

I dont see how its possible to put on muscle with having crohns, I dont see how you can build 15 lbs of muscle living off bone broth and ensures.

Derek,
I know from reading a couple of your other posts that right now you are quite unwell.
So I can completely understand why you think that you would never be able to gain weight/muscle.
But I know from myself and others on here who exercise regularly that it is possible to gain muscle with crohns.
I don't know the ins and outs of your story so I can't advise you exactly. But you need to give yourself time. Your body needs to heal and if you get a medication/diet that works for you and you get healthier and can eat more, then when you are physically stronger and can start thinking about exercising you will be able to gain muscle naturally.
I don't think you should be thinking about taking testosterone while you have a lot of other issues which are not cosmetic ones.
I hope you start feeling better soon.
