stoma rash/raw ouch

I noticed when I changed my bag tonight I am raw about a 1/2 inch size right under my stoma it has been burning and felt funny today so I thought it was the healing of the stitches?
How do you get this to heal?? I mean you have to wear your bag but man does it hurt like hell now that I put on a new one :(
I dont think its the bags I dont have redness or irritation anywhere else just this one spot may be the ring I used and had on a week :( :( sadly because I was on the hospital 5 days and they had no stoma nurse nuts no supply's .....
I had this gummy ring you mold on and it was to tight I had cut my bag to large so I used the ring not to waste the bag..... not realizing I would be stuck in the thing a week.

Sorry about your troubles. I let mine air out when it got like that. Make sure to use sting free prep pads... Oh goodness I used the other ones when I got raw the first time and I went in complete shock through my body with the pain but it went away fast.. Also let it dry real good before putting a new bag on. I hope everything is going good for you.

Its spreading now :( how do you let it air out though??
Do you know where to get the sting free pads?

Thanks

THe hospital gave them to me but I did get some from convatec site. Make sure they say sting free because thats how I messed up. I still have a fresh new box that has alcohal in them and wont go NEAR them.
When I let mine air out I made sure I didnt eat anything for about an hour before then I took my bag off cleaned the area and just covered it with a dry light recieving blanket and just laid on the bed and relaxed make sure you have a few of those blankets in case of output from the stoma. It helped mine. Oh when I put the blanket over the stoma I put my hand over it and just held it there.. I remember it feeling weird just free like that

Oh no. Eventually your skin will "Toughin up" and get use to it. after a while it will be a little rougher and wont get like that.. I say a few months of figuring the right wafer/bag/stoma gels and stuff. Just always keep it dry when putting the bag on they have a powder you can use to to help with that also.
