Stoma reconstruction

Has any one out there had to have their stoma reconstructed? I am facing surgery anyway for fistula repair and possibly removal of thickened bowel.

I haven't had to have stoma reconstruction, but my surgeon did talk about it in case my stoma retracted even further. He seemed to think that it would be successful. Have you talked to your gastroenterologist and/or your surgeon about it?

A couple of my roomates had their stomas moved while I was in hospital. One was simply pulled out further, and given a spout. They were both very pleased with the results and discharged alot quicker than I was.
