Hi everyone. I ate some cheese yesterday and immediately after my upper abdominal region started hurting. It's been like this for a couple days regardless of what I eat, though the cheese was worse. I started Entocort 6mg Friday June 13th (I know...lucky day! Lol). I remember 4 years ago taking Prilosec due to similar problems with either the Pentasa or Ent..but not sure. Can it cause gastritis or ulcers?? What if it's H Pylori?! My appt with a new more competent GI (hopefully) is in Aug. should I stop the Ent( I'm on LDN) or take Prilosec? Also I have like an acidy taste in my mouth..

Entocort is a delayed release pill that shouldn't do much of anything till it reaches the small intestine so it's hard to believe it would have that effect on you.

i just read the package insert which says heartburn can happen. And this happened last time with Entocort..sooo if the Prilosec for a month doesnt help lol, then investigations may have to be done!

I hate that medicine is a lot of: try this to see if it works, THEN if if doesn't, we'll try and find the root cause. -_-

I'm the type where I want to know what and why, before even caring about relief lol....but you're right, there are much less adverse effects with Entocort. I guess the capsule, in passing through the stomach, may leak some chemicals.

Well if it keeps happening maybe it's got that effect sadly. I also like to know the cause but doctors always just want to treat the symptoms.
