Hi, i always get stomach gurgling after eating, takeing iron and folic acid supplement and at random times of the day.
Does anyone else get this?
Is it a reaction to food or what im confused
Its really anoying and sometimes it makes me feel nauseas
Help?

What is your diagnosis and where are your affected areas?

For me, gas was the primary cause of gurgling. It was, and still is when gurgling happens, followed very quickly by passing gas. This is the benign version. There were other sounds for me as well, such as a whooshing sound that seems to have been caused by strictures and narrowing. Until those were taken care of, they were constant noises for me. In this case though, I could also very regularly feel a solid lump in my abdomen that was only relieved when things moved.

Just an aside, where was the solid lump felt when you experienced it? I am getting tested for inflammation through colonoscopy and my problems stem from my right abdomen. Right below my ribs, I often feel a firmness that mostly goes away when I have a BM, which is also where I'm experiencing pain and pressure. The pain never fully goes away, though.

Maybe?

I dont have a diagnosis yet but they think it is crohns

My strictures cause very loud, frequent gurgling. There are other causes, but that's just my personal experience. I'm having my strictures removed on Wednesday. I wonder if my wife will miss the constant rumbling...

My tummy is so loud it sounds like a cat growling sometimes. The doctor has made jokes saying he doesn't need the stethoscope to hear my bowels moving. It's a joke in my family too. In public I get super dirty looks, it does sound like flatulence at times 😃

Sometimes, I get REALLY loud gurgling noises that make me worry everyone around me can hear them, especially when I sat in a classroom while studying for my Bachelor's degree. Some people have remarked on them, but mostly, I look around and no one is looking back at me. LOL!

When I was in nursing school I had the same issues although being in a class with a bunch of soon to be nurses was probably the best environment for my tummy to be loud.

Mine would sound like a Victorian drainage system. Pretty embarrassing in a quiet office. And my lower right abdomen would visibly swell up for a few seconds before going down with a big gurgle.

Surgery fixed it. I hope that's not the case for you.

MissLeopard - mine were all over the place. I have had a total of 4 surgeries that have all included resections and strictureplasties. I understand your classroom comment. I had a geology lab exam with about 40 students crammed into a small class. Felt it coming on, dreading every moment that I knew was coming. Ended up with a really loud "glugging" sound - same as when you pour a thick liquid from a bottle. Never seen so many puzzled looks on people's faces. Funny in hindsight, rather embarrassing at the time. Great story now.

LOL, I can even feel them coming on sometimes, so I would clench my stomach to try to stifle the noise, but it rarely worked. Even in college, I would worry about people making fun (probably anxiety-related), but, mostly, I would just wonder why it was happening.

I had really bad gurgling when SIBO was present.

But if you are taking iron supplements and it only occurs when you do take them, you see what the reason is. I couldn't tolerate any of the standard iron supplements, gave me really bad tummy ache.

Sounds like the symptoms I had with partial obstruction...
Very similar. You could see and feel a large lump and then it would gurlge and pass through, kind of in waves...

I use to gurgle a lot before I had my first surgery. Strictures in the bowel cause it as food/liquids push through. After my surgery, when they removed the bad bowel, my gurgling disappeared.

But then there is sloshing, which is when you for example lie down and jiggle your abdominal area. That is food/liquid in your stomach. If it has been hours since you have eaten, and hear the sloshing, your stomach is slow to empty.

I find that my stomach gurgles a lot right after I have a bm and clear everything out. It's really loud too which gets super annoying at my job since I sit in a court room where it can be quiet at times.
