Stool Sample - Need Help

I am currently undiagnosed, but am going through the testing. I was given a sample bottle to provide a stool sample, but wasn't given instructions on how to do so. This could get really messy. I have held out two weeks on this. Can I just scoop some out of the bowl, or do I have to get it on the way out?

Don't scoop it out of the bowl! That will contaminate the specimen. In another thread someone mentioned putting clingfilm (plastic wrap) over the back half of the bowl and taking the sample from there. Be careful not to get any toilet water or urine on it.

And stop putting it off! It's one of the easier tests we can do.

When I needed to do mine they gave me a hat, a half bowl type thing to catch the stool there should be a spoon type thing connected to the cap which you use to scoop the samle into using that. If they didn't give you a hat then try to put something clean and use the top protion of stool nothing that touches the cling wrap or whatever you use to catch the stool.

I just had to do this the other day for a new test. i went directly into it! lol its a tiny bottle but i was able to go just a bit. But when i do, usually blood gets squeeze out too. thats a very important test!
