Stopping and restarting Humira

I have only had the first dose - 4 shots - 2 weeks ago. Now I have developed a squamous cell
skin cancer on my leg and the doctor does not want me to take the next dose and to hold off until this is resolved. Can you restart Humira after a month and what dose would it be at if you did?

I would think you would have to go through the loading doses again if you have only had the 4 initial shots.

Best to check with your doctor on that.

You would have to ask your doctor about the loading doses.

I would think the real problem would be getting your insurance company to pay for those extra shots again.

I have been on humira for many years through the patient assistance program. Years ago they did not give extra medicine at the end of the year to get you through the approval process for the next year. So basically I would have to get through January, and part of February without any Humira.

The only problem I had was an increase in symptoms which went away once I started taking it again.
