Could anyone tell me what this feels like?

I had surgery last year and am now on Infliximab, I know its working because my crp was 1 in sept and just last week was 5 before my 4th infusion.

I'm still getting pains in my side though, I have quite a high tolerance to pain but they are still noticeable, it feels like bruising on the inside where the join was and comes and goes.

It's strange though, I can't associate it to anything it just seems to come and go randomly. One week it's there for a few days and then it's either gone or just not noticeable. I'm just wondering if rather than being a flare up it could be stricturing where the join is, and I know this is common.

The only way to be certain is a scope or ct/barium meal and I know my Gi will do one in the next couple of months:( but I just wonder if there is anything I can do and whether it can improve without requiring surgery?

i have a really bad stricture in my ileum right now and it feels like every time i eat it gets my digestive track moving and causes the pain in my lower right side of my abdomen. also, i can tell when the food gets to the strictured intestines because it causes severe nausea and pain. hope you feel better. remicade is a good drug.

HI Dave, it sounds like either you are having spasms or it could be scar tissue, sometimes that happends when you have surgery or many flare ups. Strictures you will know, you vomit and have pains and not many bms. Remicade should help but if it doesnt it could be scar tissue. Ask your doctor if you could benefit from an antispasmotic. Just a thought. Hope you get relief soon.

If you have strictures you will hear funny noises from your inside, the sound I mention is pretty similar at the one when you are extremely hungry. You can also feel odd movements into your guts.

Then you can also feel pain if the strictures are inflamed.

If the strictures are very narrow you will have difficulties on digesting foods that contains fiber, such as orange, pineapple, corn, etc.; and that can cause a partial obstruction, which is very painful. :(
