Hello everyone

I have b12 injections every 3 months and at the beginning it was brilliant, but a few injections along, the 'energy' feeling only seems to last a few weeks, if that.

My next injection is due start of November, but for the last month or so ive been struggling so bad - Im literally shattered 24/7.

Ive made an appointment but the doctors can only fit me in middle of next week, ahh.

Another problem for me is that because ive been so tired all the time, ive been putting on weight very fast. Infact, I think ive put on 2 stone this last year :( I feel like I want to cry - its a vicious circle. Im tired, so I don't exercise or move much which is causing the weight to creep on.

Any advice? I feel so low!

I'm sorry you aren't doing well queenlizard45uk and I'm sorry for the late reply.

When you see the doctor make sure they test your B12 again as you may need injections more often. I get them every other month yet some people have it done once a week (I'm sure the dose etc varies). This may help with the fatigue but while you're having blood work done it would be good to check other vitamin levels as well like iron, vit D, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc etc to rule out anything else that may be low in case one of these may also be related to the fatigue.

Flares in general have always made me tired. If you can't get up to move around then you could focus on what you eat like reducing the amount of salty foods and drinks (sodas etc) as those will cause you to retain water. What has your diet been like lately? With little energy its nice to be able to just heat something up and not have to worry about cooking so much so often times I'll make a large batch of stew or soup and freeze individual portions so I can have something to eat later without putting in too much effort.

Getting up to walk around is tiring but you can exercise while sitting and even laying down. If you want I can find some images or videos on youtube for you. I just finished doing physical therapy for a back injury and most of the exercises I was doing were laying down.

What's your current treatment plan for Crohn's?
