I have just been informed by chasing up my GI's secretary i have IBS and he has discharged me. I'm sorry for ranting but if i had ibs i'm sure i would not have the symptoms i do have. My main concern was lower right abdominal pain, night sweats, mucas and weight loss. I'm not stressed or depressed in any way. I know my symptoms are very mild compared to what you guy's are going through. I'm stuck and dont know what to to next. Thanks for letting me rant x

Sorry that stinks. I'm confused, if it is ibs wouldn't the GI still treat you for those symptoms. I thought there are meds for ibs?
oops, nevermind I just went back and read your previous post. Are you able to get another opinion? It is so frustrating to be told by doctors that things look normal, when you know your body is not feeling normal. :stinks:

What tests have you had done??, did they do any scopes?? you could always ask for a 2nd opinion. I had mebiverine & buscopan for the IBS, before being referred to GI.

Monkeyboy, probably the best thing would be to go back to your GP and ask for a referral to a new GI. You don't get things like unintentional weight loss or night sweats with IBS. You need a new doctor who listens, takes you seriously, and is willing to run more tests to try to get you some answers. Good luck!

I'll make an appointment with my GP tomorrowi had Coloscopy and CT scan done but been told all came back clear. I just looked on an IBS site and only have 1 symptom and that is mucus but my abdominal pain is static in my lower right quadrant not all over my lower half and no constipation or diarrhea. I was on mebeverine a few months ago but it didn't help. Then my doctor gave me Hycosine but they didn't work either then when i went to A&E in may/june they gave me tramadol which take most of the pain away. Been on tramadol since. Thanks for the advice x
