Just a quick and silly question :soledance:

How long after a resection do u think
It'd be before u cud go out and drink?
I'm due to have my 1st surgery in march
but usually go to aintree 4 the horse racing
every year this year it's on April 13th if I
have my op fairly early in march do u think
I'd be well enough to go and enjoy a few drinks
with my friends or wud it be too soon

Yes depends though how much you want to drink I had my surgery 4 weeks before Xmas and I had a drink about 3 weeks after surgery at my sisters 40th I didn't and couldn't go mad though for a while but still had a few from then and over Xmas and felt ok. Your bowel is still healing up to 6 weeks and you don't want to cause any undue inflammation. I couldn't then and even now drink White wine though due to acidity but can manage the red stuff ok. I can also tolerate beer and sometimes even crave it now and I never would've drunk beer before!! The other thing I notice is I struggle to drink on consequetive days as this can cause an upset also. Having said all that enjoy aintree and hope you get a few quid on the national!!

thanks 4 the advice Archie that's cheered
me up anyway :) I'm terrified of having
surgery but really the sooner it's done the
better just hope I am as well as u afterwards
