Surgery

I just joined this forum but have had Crohns for 17 years now. I have had multiple surgery's including having a ileostomy (stoma) placed. I was wondering if anyone has had the same done. What the results were. I am starting to get used to it after 1 1/2 years but it is still very difficult and I am sure will be for the rest of my life.

Hello Outpatient,
I'm going under the knife next yeah for a full colectomy. There is a subforum about stomas under the general IBD discussion.

I have a permanent colostomy, and I'm quite comfortable with it! It's only been 11 months and I've been very lucky that I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever.

Any questions, feel free to ask...like vonfunk said, there's a stoma subforum for us ostomites
