January 2014- Right colectomy and removal of two fistulas

Monday- Prep to clear myself out before surgery.

Tuesday- 9:30 Am surgery. Laproscopic, with a one inch cut above belly button (dr's had to cut into muscle) I don't remember going into surgery nor do I remember being transported to the room. I remember waking up and screaming out in pain. Thank god for the PCA pump

Wednesday- the nurses made me get up and walk and it was incredibly difficult. Even moving was difficult. I remember feeling shooting pains in my stomach.

Saturday- discharged!! It was rough for the next two weeks. I couldn't stand for more than 15 minutes without feeling pain and soreness. I felt helpless and was depressed because of the scar as well as wondering when I would feel normal again

Weeks later- I still get sore and have numbness throughout my stomach. The doctor says my CD is in remission. I have been eating like crazy because it feels so good to actually eat for the first time in a year without feeling sick after consuming two bites. I have gained back some of the ridiculous amt of weight I have lost from being sick. I have my first apt (since surgery) with GI doctor next Tuesday. I have so many questions and hope will be answered. This blog is great and has given me good insight.
