Hello everyone, I am new and my name is Saxon. I am undiagonosed but I am in the process of getting diagnosed. I have had blood work done, a FOBT done a Colonoscopy done and I have had a tube down my throat looking into my stomach.

My family doctor referred me to a GI who than preformed the colonoscopy. After the colonoscopy I was sent home once the drugs wore off. I had biopsies done but I have had not received any results from my blood test or the test I had done with the GI like the colonoscopy. The only results I have had back were the FOBT which were negative.

Here is the twister though. A few nights ago I get a letter in the mail telling me I have been referred to a surgeon (General Surgeon) without any results of what is going on. Here in Canada (Ontario) the GI sends the results to your family doctor and your family doctor makes an appointment with you to discuss results and treatment options if needed. Sometimes the family doctor may call you if everything came back normal in some cases.

Nothing like that happened with me. I was just referred to a surgeon with no results, no discussion from the GI that did my colonoscopy or my family doctor that referred me to the GI. I am trying to call everyone but it's Saturday so I won't get any answers till Monday.

When I saw my GI they were looking for Crohn's, Colitis and something else that I don't remember.

Has anyone else felt like they were playing musical chairs with doctors? Is this normal?

Welcome Saxon! Fellow Canadian here, all the way in Alberta though :)

Not sure why you were referred to a surgeon without hearing the results. Only thing I could think of is perhaps there was scar tissue or a stricture that will have to be operated on. We all know how wait times can be, maybe they are just jumping the gun to make sure you see a surgeon. Other wise I have no idea. Hopefully someone else can chime in :)
