I am 41,just diagnosed with CD in Sept. 2015. I recently found a small 1cm painless lymph node on the right side of my neck. I have had constant sinus issues for over a year and am wondering if anyone else has this issue. I see that others have painful lymph nodes but bot in my case. Only one single painless, moveable, firm node. I have had a flare about the same time and I am only on Lialda. Any help is appreciated

Completely agree
Swollen lymph nodes need to be evaluated by a doctor
They can determine what monitoring will need done if any

I had my tonsils out when I was 26, and both prior to and after the surgery had a swollen lymph node in my neck, on the side where my tonsils were most infected. I've also had two endoscopic sinus surgeries for chronic sinus infections. After the second one the lymph node became much smaller. It acts up every now and then, but I would definitely check with your doctor about it. At one point they did an ultrasound to make sure it was okay.

Thanks. Do you think your sinuses are at all linked to your CD? Im freaked out about lymphoma or other cancer. Also, I asked for an ultrasound. Its next week. Are they pretty conclusive?

An ultrasound measures the size of the lymph node and helps identify any abnormalities of the node and surrounding tissue.

My sinus issues predate crohn's by a decade and I think are the result of lowered immunity, nothing I worry about (I take Entocort; 6MP gave me pancreatitis and haven't moved to a biological yet, so not the result of medications). Yours could be the result of your sinus problems; so stay positive. Let us know what the ultrasound says.
