I've noticed for the past couple of months that my right flank wakes me up with aching, and sometimes I feel it during the day too. I don't have other urinary symptoms, and I think early on I checked my urine for infection. I'm not nauseous, no fever. I was stressed about all of Jaedyn's testing, possible outcomes, then the stress of getting a diagnosis, and now what we are going to do about it... I often have difficulty sleeping starting at about 4:30 - 5:00 am. My hair is falling out and getting greyer. I have a hard time relaxing...

So I know I'm stressed, I guess my question is, has anyone else experienced pain over the kidneys as a symptom of stress?

Get an ultra sound for kidneys stones ASAP .
I had one that kept bobbing up and down .
Easy pain free test.
Kidney pain does not equal stress .
Take care of your self

Yes Carol please get it checked out, you have to take care of yourself not just Jaedyn

Honestly it's got to get a lot worse than this before I'm going to do anything about it... Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this...

I have not had that symptom. But during the most stressful part of Danny's illness (during the mis-CF-dx) I came down with Graves disease. Stress can really be hard on caregivers ... and I thought I was doing fine (ie acting rationally, etc.) Please do your best to take care of yourself.

My gallbladder "went". I know it was because of stress. I had it removed and a lot better but my hair still falls out. I feel my hair and skin is getting better since her dx's but I still struggle with the stress and over-eating! It wouldn't be so hard if I wasn't such a great cook!

Trust me I know "worse than this"
I went to the ER was told it was a uti ( no ultrasound )
Three years before I spoke up about it again.
Even then no ultrasound so I stopped complaining
Oddly enough DS has bilateral renal cysts found during his Ibd ct scan.
I had to have an ultrasound to rule out adpkd in myself per DS's nephrologist.
Turns out I had a very large ( over 1 cm ) kidney stone.
Which had to be surgically removed quickly since my kidney has nephrosis.
You need a scan even if it just hurts a little .
It quick and your daughter needs you healthy.
Ok

I have to agree I also developed kidney stones which I think was partly due to stress. Go get it checked remember you have to take care of yourself your daughter needs you. Yes I know us medical people are the worst patients and always taking care of everyone else and not ourselves but believe me get yourself checked out. Telling you. One practitioner to another. ( I am a nurse practitioner and nurse midwife retired now due to an injury in the military)

I also got kidney stones and I believe it was from stress. My Mom had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer, we had to put our cat down because he had a stroke and Devynn ended up in emerg for a few days on morphine for pain because she went into a flare. I had pain in the kidney area and had ultrasound done. They said I had 2 stones. It started dull and got worse and worse. PLEASE go get checked.

Carol i agree with everyone else you need to get this checked out.
Take care of yourself and try not to stress.

Thanks everyone for your concern. I'll check my urine again. If there is blood in my urine OR if it gets worse, I'll go get it checked out. Right now we've got money going out left and right with Jaedyn's bills, my son's medical bills, my husband needs his knee checked out (had floating cartilage), etc. I'm sure you all can relate...

Hope your pain doesn't last too long. A urine infection is a likely cause, or maybe a grumbling appendix? I have had a pain in my right side for nearly 2 years now. It comes and goes, mostly just annoying, but sometimes really quite sore. I have had CT scans, ultrasounds, blood tests, colonoscopy and they have all come back clear. Very frustrating - just have to live with it I guess.
