Tapering Entocort

Hi all

I began tapering Entocort from 9mg to 6mg a week ago, after being on 9mg for about 12 weeks (prior to that I was on 6mg for 8 weeks).

I have been feeling really exhausted and energyless. Has anyone else experienced this whilst tapering? Thankfully my symptoms (toileting and pain0 have not relapsed as they have done in the past (yay!) but I just generally feel really rubbish...

I have experienced severe fatigue with entocort once but mostly have no side effects. You may be experiencing side effects of the steroid or just from weaning off of it.

Most of the steroid is released in the gut and the side effects are usually much less than a drug like prednisone.

Hello M101. Fatigue is a major symptom of my Crohn's. I used to be on pred alot, which helps in the energy department :runaway:, but I haven't gotten that same kick from Entocort. Perhaps it's from the medication, but in my experience with Entocort, stepping down may be "uncovering" some of the fatigue it might have been masked at the higher dose? Either way, I would talk to your GI about it. Hang in there! :hug:
