TENS Unit?

Has any one here used a TENS Unit?

Did you like it?
Did it work?
Did insurance cover it?

I'm wondering if this will work for Grace's legs pains.
Her Rheumy has also offered Tramadol(sp?)
but if we can help in other ways we sure would be up for it.

I used two I bought at the drug store. It did nothing for me and I returned them.

The pain management clinc DS went to prescribed DS one last year.
Insurance covered it.
It helped him some when things aren't too bad.

I used a TENS during physio following a car accident. I really didn't find it helped with the pain at all. Sorry!

Amy used a tens machine when she was bad last year. It did help a bit although seemed to lose effectiveness after a few days.

I asked my kids physio therapist about them and she said they are only partially effective. Never hurts to try it out but just wouldn't expect amazing results.
