thank you dentist

In my last post I was ranting how the doctors won't give me any meds, I went to the dentist with a horrible tooth ache, and received pain medication not much but hopefully this will give me some relief if just for a couple days atleast. At this point I will take what I can get.

That is great for the meantime, take them only when needed, half the dose if you can stand it. You need treatment to help make the pain go away. When do you see your doctor? When are they going to help you? Hang in there.

My colonoscopy is scheduled April 7th, I am hoping that after the results come back from that they are a little clearer than the first time. It has been excruciating since this has all began, I was told I was too young to have anything wrong, my first focus was me having colon cancer and after me crying in the doctors office and me telling her that my sister had it at 17 she took me a little more serious then. Why don't doctors just listen to you, they see you for a brief period of time, I think that we are capable of knowing that something is wrong with us, and we look to them for guidance. I just wish they would throw out the book of what is suppose to happen because people with our condition there is no set way of things, or symptoms or how we suffer. We are the only ones who know what it is like to have this and I wish they would just listen and be more open minded.

Bravo, you said exactly what my daughter in University had just said. She is taking the medical field route and is taking Psychology and Kenisiology (new studies) and says it was wrong for my Gi to say Colitis when it wasnt. She says doctors should apologize for making mistakes, because patients have enough to deal with besides their rotten bed side manner. I love my Gi he is good but I was not in the right frame of mind (never am lol) after he mentioned Colitis after my sigmoid scope. My daughter knows that listening is more important than talking just to hear yourself talk. Hang in there, and don't give up, or change doctors.

unfortunately you need to keep pushing the doctors to listen - I do feel your emotional pain

I gave up on GI's for a while (not recommended) - I had one GI who turned up late for the colonoscopy as though I had all my time to spare - he did his thing and then when we discussed the results he told me he was going to put me on meds that I had taken 17 years ago and that did not work. So I asked how they were going to work better now and was told that was his take - so I told him he was fired - evidently he was not used to having his judgment questioned

Also I am not a lab rat either - the GI's that read your blood results and then prescribe not listening to a word you are telling them

My current GI I walked in to his office told him some meds were not working and his comment was "well stop taking them then" he listened - we get on great he gives me the meds - I am free to control the disease and life is good

Good GI's are out there but hard to find

Sorry my vent for the night

My GI insisted my meds were working. They weren't. I ended up in urgent care and got the on call GI. He changed my meds that day. This didn't make my Dr. happy but now he doesn't doubt me. I say keep saying what you feel till someone listens. I think the issue is that they see too many people who might demand unnecessary tests or meds so they tend to be guarded about it. I don't it is right but with all the crazies I see working in retail I can see how one could lose faith in people's judgment. Good luck! Push, push till you get a Dr. Who listens and results.
