I've had a pain a hand and a half below my left breast. It's by the rib cage, top left of tummy. Hard to direct you to the place!

I get sharp pains there, and it hurts a lot. I had a feeling it was an ulcer, but I don't know - i'm not a doctor!

It's been hurting today so I placed my hand on it, and there is a lump there now. Doctors haven't noticed a lump before and nor have I.

Because i'm sat down and occasionally the tummy rolls.. ya know? I felt the opposite side of my tummy and it's flat.

It's hurting more now that i've touched it and worried about it.

Mum is just like eh it'll be fine it happens.

But.. well.. surely you'd be concerned if a lump appeared where you've had pain for months.

Doctors tomorrow luckily bit is there anything to do at the moment for the pain? It hurts to be too heavily and I have a yummy roast dinner soon and worried that'll make it hurt because sometimes it hurts when I eat.

Paracetamol before dinner and heat pad after dinner.

Anything else?:voodoo:

Below the rib cage? Is the pain constant or does it come and go? Relieved by bowel movements? I used to get these when I had narrowings/strictures. They would be relieved a bit when "stuff" moved through. Be sure you mention these in your meeting with your doc tomorrow.

The pain comes and goes and went it comes, it's sharp jabbing pains on top of a dull pain. Nothing relieves the pain, it just goes on its own after a while. I don't have much BM any more.

Of course i'll let my doctor now :)

Hi Tasha,

It might be a good idea to call NHS direct, that way you can speak to a nurse and/or doctor tonight and they can let you know whether you should go to A&E or not. I have found them really useful in the past x

I think Rachel is right - time for a professional opinion on this. My personal experience with these symptoms was a partial obstruction. You really should get it looked at, and hopefully and good session of bowel rest, a soft or liquid diet, and some good meds will take care of this for you.

I love NHS Direct! I can't call them unless my mum lets me. I don't have enough credit on my phone so i'd have to use the house phone, and it costs.

I don't think I need to go to a&e unless i'm 10x worse than this. I'm seeing a doctor tomorrow, so if I can wait until then, I will. But thank you.

you can always go through a form on the NHS website where you answer questions about your symptoms then someone calls you within the hour - at least that way you won't have to worry about credit! x

No, yesterdays doctor appointment was literally the dr saying there isn't much they can do at the moment just gotta wait to see my GI and have the scan.

She did say that I need to set myself challenges for the day because she's concerned that if I just sit on the sofa all day and don't do much it will fuel for depression and then I won't even want to go back to college. So I have been trying to do something each day now. Although I don't have depression, she just doesn't want it to lead to that.

She's right about setting goals for yourself - took me literally a decade to get my butt in gear and realise that I was the disability, not the Crohn's. There's a lot you can do, and I found that for me, some of my symptoms disappeared just by getting busy (15x a day diarrhea settled down to 5x a day when fishing for example).

Having something to do is very very important I agree.

Keep the head busy it's like a muscle
