My husband was diagnosed with Crohns 2.5yrs ago and it has been a nightmare ever since. He has tried all the medications available on the market for Crohns and it works for a while and then he builds immunity to it. Currently, he also has CDiff, he's had it for 5.5 straight months and has had several hospitalizations and nothing is getting rid of it. This tuesday he is doing a fecal transplant. Its very controversal but its our last resort. I still have children at home and they too have lost so much by watching their father wither away from this disease. This disease has caused an enormous strain in our marriage and we've been married for 15 yrs, we are highschool sweethearts. I feel so alone. We have alot of family support but I find myself resentful and angry that our family is dealing with this while other family members are out enjoying their weekends by taking family trips, going to the beach, ect...and we are sitting here watching him suffer day in and day out. This disease is horrible!!!
The whole family suffers from this disease.

CDiff is an awful infection to come down with and as you know notoriously difficult to shift.
Where is his Crohn's located?
I assume it must be too extensive/awkward for surgery since that doesn't appear to have been an option with med failure??

I understand the way you are feeling hun, just know that what you are feeling is normal. :hug: I am a carer too, both of my children have Crohn's and it is not unusual to feel the resentment you do. I found it to be at its worst when my children were flaring. The frustration of others complaining about what I deemed to be the most trivial of things, I would think to myself...if only they were my worries, want to swap!...or hearing about everyone's weekend and what a wonderful they had had and I mine was spent in the hospital. :voodoo: It's so hard but it will get better, when your husband does get rid of the CDiff and finally finds the path to remission you will see the light at the end of the tunnel and the good times will return. I think the way I survived was to just focus on each day as it dawned, not look behind or ahead, it was just too difficult if I did.
:hang: in their jenn, you aren't alone anymore! You will find many kindred spirits here to lend a helping hand and shoulder. The forum is full of fun, fab and knowledgeable folk.

So I just wanted to tell you you're a wonderful person for being supportive. You may feel you have no other choice, but you do, and you are taking the noble and kind choice by being there for your husband. You obviously have an inner strength besides a good heart.:heart:
