Hi this is my first post on any site,
My name is Theresa am currently under the hospital and was rushed into hospital in June with severe pain in my abdomen mostly on the right side I had been sick for a few days and was bent over in pain. The consultants felt that I had all the signs of appendicitis and I was taken to the theatre. The 45 min operation lasted for 3 1/2 hours I had a cyst removed from my bowel, my appendix (which was fine) and the consultant said that my bowel showed signs of IBD and he wanted me to have further investigations. I have recently had a small bowel follow through. I have continued to have lower stomach pain and diarrhoea. (I can go up to 8 times a day and I have to run to the toilet. I have extreme pain, I am sweating and shivering and when I do make it to the toilet it seems to explode! My anus has become very sore and I seem to have to keep wiping before I am clean! I also have periods of eating and then have severe pain and then projectile vomiting. I have been prescribed painkillers to help the cramps.
When I had the follow through this week, I was one of three people having this done; I drank the liquid and had various x-rays. It did not seem to take that long before I went to another x-ray machine which was like a tunnel and the consultant said that the contrast had gone through very fast. (I am not sure if this is a good thing?)
I am 42 and have always had problems with constant diarrhoea but have lived with it. I have to make sure that if I go out I know where a toilet is and if I am out to a business lunch I really stressed about needing a toilet. I am finding it hard as I work full time and always have to book my appointments mid morning as I need to be near the toilet and cannot leave until I have been to the loo quite a few times. I have not been diagnosed and have an appointment on 8th October. I do not know if it’s a coincidence but my Liver LT levels are also raised?
I have put IBD into the search engine and was brought to your site, I have found reading this site that people are not embarrassed to write their stories and I was really pleased to find this site. I would appreciate any comments
