Today my husband had his third balloon dilation via a colonoscopy and the results were pleasing. He has been having them six months apart as the stricture in the terminal ileum was so tight that there was only a pinprick opening and the doc was worried it may close off completely. Each time he has the dilation procedure it opens the stricture wider than before and each time he has recovered from the procedure quicker. We have been pleased with this relatively noninvasive alternative to surgery and coupled with a new approach to diet we have been sailing a lot more smoothly lately.
