Thought I had a partial obstruction?

Hi Everyone! I'm a little confused on what happened to me tonight, so I'm just looking for some opinions/thoughts on the matter.

First I'll start off with a little history. I was Dx'd with Crohn's in 2003. Had 5 years of D and the (normal?) symptoms. In 2008 I was fed up with doctors putting me on just about every med available and the side effects were just making me feels worse. I then basically got mad at my GI doc and weaned myself off of all my meds. I (Thank God) went pretty much into remission. NO I do not advise others to do this.

So fast forward to now. A few weeks ago I started having constipation, stomach bloating (severely) with pain in the bottom lower right side and lots of pressure right around the bottom of my sternum, vomiting and fevers sometimes. Have put up with these symptoms for a few weeks now. They are not constant, but I do have these symptoms on a daily basis.
From what I have read, I thought I might have a partial obstruction.
Before, I've always had D, never any Constipation. So this was new for me.

I finally got myself to go into the ER tonight. ( I avoid it).
They did blood work and a CT Scan. Doc said the blood work had no notable elevations and the CT scan just showed gas and some food. (I had eaten 10 hrs. earlier) Doc said I probably just have a stomach bug and to come back in if symptoms get worse. He sent me home with nausea meds.
I'm having a hard time believing that this is a stomach virus with these symptoms and with it going on for a few weeks.
Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated!!! Thanks!:)

Really am wishing they would have done more testing. Have been on the couch or in the bathroom all weekend now. Vomiting 3 times yesterday with bad stomach pain on my lower right side and stomach is still extended to look like I'm pregnant.
Haven't ate anything in over 24 hrs. Doesn't seem to be helping. Haven't went poo since yesterday morning and then it was a few times of explosive D.

I had never heard of that med until you posted it. Thank you! I might end up going into the ER later if I can rally a little energy. I don't want to get dehydrated and something for my pain would be nice too.

Buscopan is over the counter medication which helps with bowel spasms. But I am of the opinion that if you are in that much pain and your stomach is distended, hospital is the best place for you.

Thanks again Daisy for suggesting to go into er. Have been in hospital now since Sunday night. It does seem to be bowel obstruction GI doc says. Have been on :
Miralax, methylprednisolone - steriod, lovenox - blood thinner, Ultram- pain, Zofran- nausea, Dilaudid- pain, Cipro- IV - antibiotic, And Flagyl- antibiotic
They are trying to make sure inflammation isn't the problem first. Going to try another cat scan tomorrow if I can drink this stuff and keep it down for a little bit. ..which is doubtful. Everything including water is coming back up. So if we can't do the ct scan it might be a endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Right now the doc think it's scar tissue in colon but thinks
There must be more going on up further that we haven't seen yet.
Thanks for listening! Sorry this has gotten so long. I'm nervous about needing surgery! Really don't want that to happen.

I got out of the hospital yesterday. 5 days...phooey. Crohn's in my doudenum seems to be the problem. It was blocked. They did a endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Used a balloon to open the area up. At least that avoided surgery. Now I'm on a pureed low fiber diet. Man this will be tough to do with work and traveling. My fiancée is being so great about everything. I'm so lucky I have him.

So glad it is getting sorted although 5 days in hospital sucks. I have had a few dilations and they do help. I am low fibre but not pureed than god. Your fiancée sounds like a keeper!

He is a keeper! He gets IBS symptoms and even understands it not the same! Thanks for your support Daisy! I wish you all the best :)
