Hi, i used to book my appointments for my day off in the week, but my employer, wouldn't have give me time off paid, but some may it will depend on the kindness n understanding of your employer, mine was not a good employer, thus why iv just left for a new job. hope yours is better than mine was.. just explain your situation fully and ask if you need to use your own time ie holiday day, or an unpaid day or if they will allow you to make up the time you take out, if you/they can.. they may even pay you if your lucky..best wishes n good luck :)

Thanks Mandy I was getting it off from work they had a wee spat and decided to decline the time off but have now had a change of heart and are now allowing me the time off again it's been a crazy process but they are very understanding thankfully

Maybe what you could do is offer to work different hours the day of your infusion - or maybe a couple of longer days to make up for the time off - that is what I do - on my infusion days I normally work from 7am-noon, then only have to take off 2.5 hours from work. Sometimes I am able to make that up working an extra hour here and there.....

I am also able to schedule when I want to get my infusion to work it around my schedule - such as getting it on a holiday that I already have off from work....although I try not to do that as I have to travel an hour one way and it would tie up most of my day. If I do it on a work day, I only have a 5 minute drive from work to the infusion clinic....

Glad things have improved at work for you. Hope you keep well đź’•

As Crohn's can be considered a disability, they need to make some kind of reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act 2010

this website gives an example of an employee who needs time off for regular physiotherapy http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/...orking-hours-and-time/decisions-relating-time

I'm glad that they have come back to being reasonable and understanding about it though. It can be very stressful dealing with these issues at work.

Mine used to be on my day off but then I got more hours so I've been just booking the day off from my annual leave. I'm pretty sure they would let me swap my days but that's just what works for me.

I am very lucky though I have a wonderful employer who is so accommodating for most situations so I try to deal with things without disrupting the rota too much

For me not so, employer being a council.

Making it hard for me as they possibly can.. I have to use HOLIDAYS to attend mine.
