Anyone else just tired of all this?

I am just exhausted in general but I am tired of being tired and not feeling well. I am tired of going to the lab, going to the doctors and getting shots. I thought that I had a pretty good grip on this and that I had delt with and accepted it but today I just don't have it in me to be positive about it.

To clarify I know that my crohn's isn't nearly as bad as some but I just am tired. Its hard sometimes when you can't really explain how or why you feel bad just that you don't feel good and with my disease fairly well under control with the humira its especially hard to explain to people why I am so rediculously tired all the time. I can get 12hrs of sleep go to work (desk job) and nearly fall asleep driving home... They don't understand and neither do I... just frustrated.

Thanks for listening!

Could it be depression. Sometimes Depression feels like exhaustion.
Its extremely rare and probably not your problem but Humira caused depression for me. It crept up slowly over the years. It lifted 3 weeks after my last dose in February.

My son is tired all the time and he gets to stay home all day. As he is now, he can't attend school or work.

It sounds like you are doing amazing to me and you should be super proud of yourself!

Tramadol can also make you tired as well as active inflammation. I am permanently exhausted.

True. I only take the tramadol when the pain gets really unbearable and I haven't had to take it in a good long while. I am due to go to the lab anyway so I called my doctor to see if he would add in some testing for vitamin deficiencies while I am there.

That is a good idea. I get dehydrated very easily and have to take electrolyte mixture. I am also on multivitamins, folic acid and b12. I get exhausted leading to my B12. So it is well worth investigating.

I hadn't thought about that. I thyroid problems too and had that tested a few months ago to make sure I didn't need to increase my dosage on those meds but labs said everthing there was fine. Maybe there is something else going on... who knows.

I have been taking a gummy multivitamin, calcium suppliments and B12 for a week or 2 and it seems to help slightly but I still don't think its ok to be this tired all the time. For some reason I can't digest the pills... they make me terribly sick.

I have B12 injections, which is the normal way that it's given to crohns patients.

Are they painful? I have heard that they hurt alot... then again they can't be worse that the Humira injections I wouldn't think.

No, not really. They sting a bit. I have mine every 3 months. I find myself with brain fog leading up to them. I know that Humira is much worse from what people have said.

I'm sorry, I know completely how you feel. I always feel like a truck hit me.

Definitely get labs done for iron, b12, thyroid, etc to rule those out. If you find that those are ok you may want to see a rheumatologist and ask if you may suffer from chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia syndrome. That's what I found out was going on.

I get tired from low iron as well but I cant take a full multivitamin - there is too much in them - who needs 200% of daily vitamins in a pill??? I try to take a children's vitamin and an iron pill when I feel really anemic/sluggish.

I have multivitamins on prescription along with selenium because I have absorption issues. Potassium can cause real issues: try bananas and tomatoes which are great for potassium.

I feel much the same. It sounds like you're more exhausted than I am, but I, too, am very fed up with it. Even with adjusting supplements, just doesn't seem to get much better. I've been having a relapse of Lyme disease symptoms after treatment which is part of my problem, but even knowing that it's temporary (should be, anyway)... Anyway, like you said, being tired, having doctor's visits, injections...it sucks and I'm tired of it, too.

Thanks everyone! I went to the lab last week and they took blood to test for iron and B12 as well as my thyroid again while I was there to make sure all of that was ok. I have an appointment today so we will see how the results come out.
