hi,
sorry for being gross,
When im on the toilet doing the do, i have this strong feeling like im gonna puke.
Its not nausea or an unwell feeling but an actual mechanical pulling deep down. Its new to me since mu UC has spread just this past month or so.

Does any1 know what it is. could it be a sign of anything or do we all just pat way too much attention to the "do"

I can't make a guess as to what it is, but I sometimes feel this way. It's the oddest feeling, like you said, not nausea so much as a gut feeling like my stomach is wanting to turn inside out. I've never thought to bring it up to my doc as it happens so rarely. I just assume it's some quirky Crohn's/digestive thing.

Yes,I get that sometimes, but I feel really really sick, although I never have been.I even went so far as to buy a cheap plastic bowl (mixing) which I keep in the laundry basket where I can easily reach it.It happens very rarely, thank goodness, but it's a horrible feeling.

I get this on occasion- when I have an upset stomach. I figure it's from abdominal cramps, like you're being squeezed in the middle and everything is forced either up or down.

I get it too, only with diarrhea though. Its like everything wants to come out from both ends (I don't actually vomit though, just feels like I could). I told my GI about it and he didn't seem to have any answers for me. Will be doing a capsule endoscopy next week to see if there's something going on that other tests didn't see. No harm in telling your GI about it. The more they know about your symptoms the better treatment you'll receive.

I get this, I call it the spu-poos! I dont always vomit but always feel like I'm going to, sometimes I'll just dry heave.....I'll also salivate excessively, it's pretty traumatic! One of my theorys is that my colon goes into spasm because a vomit is always associated with an extremely painful BM. I feel for you honey it's the bain of my existance, I carry a ziplock bag in my pocket in case I'm out somewhere when it happens, thats not normal!

ok so its a common thing then.
And heres me thinking i was special. lol.

thanks for all your replies. you are a great group.

It may be common but the cause is still unknown. If it were a virus or flare then it wouldn't be just during a BM. If it were inflammation in general then people with little to no inflammation wouldn't experience it (my CRP is 5). I also haven't talked to anyone without IBD who have felt the same way but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

I am not dxed with IBD (tested 2 years ago), and experience this also. Lucky me! In the middle of last night, in fact, it happened, and has happened a couple of times recently. The last time I experienced this was when these "spu-poo" (I like that) episodes started for me in 2007 when pregnant. Then I had had a fairly long reprieve from the vomiting part until the last few weeks. Fun fun. If anyone finds out a reason for this let us know.
