To continue remicade or not

I am in the middle of moving 4 states away and I will be missing my remicade infusion. By the time I am settled into my new place and am able to get insurance started, I will most likely be about 4 weeks late on my scheduled infusion. I am worried about what will happen and will I be able to start the remicade after being off for at least 4 weeks. I have not been exactly happy with remicade lately as it has given me some strange symptoms that my doctor has no explanation for (night chills, shivering, extreme nausea, no appetite at all, stomach pain, this only happens at night). I am wondering if I should just stop remicade and ask to try a different medication when I move. This is stressing me out, which I know will make my symptoms worse.

We stopped remicade for surgery and once we stared back my son had a reaction due to the fact that his vary had built up antibodies due to the lapse in infusions for surgery, so there is a risk.

He was switched to humira and is doing well but he says he felt better on remicade and feels it helped more.

If you chose to stay on remicade could you have your GI call in the infusion order to an infusion center in the state you're moving to? Since there are stand alone infusion centers as well as those available at hospitals it shouldn't be a problem to find one.

Good idea, I had not even thought of stand alone infusion centers. I think I want to at least have on more remicade infusion to see if those symptoms persist. if they do then I will know its from the remicade. then I can make a decision on whether or not to stay on remicade. Thank you!
