Toilet Seats... Preference?

I was just wondering if you all have a favorite toilet seat. The one that's in my apartment sucks because it's too small, but I haven't changed it yet. I don't really like the padded type, because after awhile they crack. I don't know if there are different types of padded seats or just the cheap one people always seem to have. The most comfortable seat I think I have found is usually on public toilets. They are usually elongated, with the inside carved downward, and the front portion cut out.

If you all know any good ones that you love let me know. Thanks.

I always thought a toilet seat was a toilet seat. Now I'm going to be critiquing the next time I'm sitting back on one. ;0)

What a funny idea for a thread! :)

Yes there are many different types of toilet seat but I have never rally thought about it much.

Except that mine a home has a wee crack in it from where I stood on it to unwire a heater a few months back (now, it probably is a bit of a germ haven and if I shared my house i'd have replaced it by now, but only my germs right?).

Mostly it isn't an issue but occasionally it pinches my right butt-cheek and really, really hurts!

Until I get round to replacing it I am usually careful to distribute myself more onto the left cheek :)

I like the toilet seats that have a built in heater and massager. I've got to be relaxed while I'm on the thrown.

The toilet seats I really don't like are the ones that almost circular and have a small hole, or at least smaller than normal. There are some TS's that seem to put a lot of pressure on my butt as well and I don't like those.

Yes, I agree, clean is the best.

shazamataz - is your seat solid? If so, I'd be afraid of getting caught and being pinched. Ouch!

it's plastic and yes it DOES sometimes pinch me and I get stuck and it bloody hurts! Gives real meaning to the term 'A pain in the butt'. Time to invest in a new one I suppose....

Clean and dry is good for me! :)

That's how I feel most of the time, but when I'm sitting for 30 minutes or so, comfort become a factor for me.

Could be the way im sitting, but legs fall asleep and that sucks. I wish I could always have the seat warmed. I hate when I have the go and the seat is freezing.

I prefer any seat that doesn't have a sharp edge on the sides... had to replace the one in my apartment after i noticed that after my 1/2 hour visits it was actually cutting my thighs... definately not pleasant... best seats though are the ones that are curved and almost cup your bottom... pure heaven

Totally my first thought.

I don't like ones that are black. Some public places have black ones and it always makes me feel like I can't tell if it is clean or not.
