I have been suffering for 8 years. My Gallbladder started to act up last August. I knew it was much different from the "other pain and illness" that I experienced lower down in my intestine. I had 3 or 4 specialists say that I HAD IBS and acid reflux and they're was nothing to be done.

I had one doctor that I followed for 8 years that believed me, and he agreed I had Crohns disease. To make a long story short I ask this doctor to perform a HIDA scan which looks at the function of the gallbladder, he does and they find chronic cholectcystis -functioning at 2% EF, low normal is 35%. Anyways during the surgery (removal of gall bladder) the general surgeon see's ton's of scarring, adhesion and inflammation in my illeum and small intestine.

I did my post op today, and he said that I need to follow up with my specialized and he said he could tell I was suffering for a long time. The only drugs I ever took for my suspected Crohns was prednisone on occasion to help me survive and imuran for a few months.

MORAL OF THE STORY - you know your own body!!! it took "opening me up" to discover and fully get a diagnose. Don't listen to doctors whom pass your illness as IBS, keep listening to body!!! I am gonna book a FUP with my specialist soon to fully understand what is wrong and the next step of action!!!

I'm really happy that you finally got a diagnosis!! It sucks that you have Crohn's, but it is nice that you an finally get treatment for it!! I hope you are recovering well from your surgery :)
