I know Zofran is supposed to stop nausea and vomiting but I took it this morning and vomited 30 minutes later anyway. Do you think it only prevents vomiting if you just don't feel well but allows the body to throw up when necessary? I'm sleep deprived and not sure if that makes any sense.

I think the Flagyl is hard on my stomach and might be the reason I puked.

I've had mostly good results from Zofran, but it doesn't always work for me. If my nausea is due to illness/inflammation/something I ate/etc then Zofran works quite well. But if my nausea is a side effect of medication, then Zofran doesn't do much. I was taking Hyoscyamine (or however you spell it) awhile back and it didn't work and gave me horrible nausea for weeks even after I stopped taking it. Zofran didn't even make a dent in that nausea so I just had to deal with it. It sounds like your nausea is from meds too, so maybe that's just a shortcoming of Zofran in general is that it doesn't work for that type of nausea? I don't know. I wouldn't give up on Zofran completely, it works really well for me most of the time, just not in circumstances like this. How long are you on Flagyl for?

Yeah the other day in the hospital I felt like puking and they injected it and I felt much better. Today I couldn't stomach the Flagyl hopefully I can later otherwise ill need to tell them I can't hold it down. I'm supposed to be on it for 2 weeks.
