Do any of your kids have trouble with their teeth?? Grace just knocked out a tooth...for the fourth time! She has lost her last four teeth by knocking them out! She never said anything about a loose tooth at all for each one....just tooth in hand from being...hit with a swing...running into a chair...a cup jammed in her mouth...now today it was the neighbor kid's elbow!!

Just wondering...I think it's odd.

Thanks!

Lisa

My diagnosis...Grace is a tomboy:)

In all seriousness though Lisa, has her dentist mentioned any evidence of gum disease etc.? I do think dental problems can be EIM of Crohns.

I agree with Dex. Probably not but it's always better to be sure.......

Keep us posted!

Hahaha! Mark...you said it! She is a Tomboy...zero interest in sitting quietly and playing barbies! I was just wondering...I read that Vitamin deficiency could play a roll in premature tooth loss...just makes me wonder why her teeth don't seem to be "sticking" like they should. Thought it was worth the question....Thanks..lol!

Do Grace's bloods show any particular vit. deficiency? I'm assuming these are all baby teeth, so are her adult teeth coming in ok or are they slow to appear?

Thanks Dusty!

Mark...I'm not sure if they ran some Vitamin levels or not...I think they are...results on the 7th. Her adult teeth did take FOREVER to come in...the first two are now in most of the way..the third she knocked out still hasn't come in...

Thanks everyone!

My son seemed to lose quite a few teeth all at once and at one point his gums were very inflamed. They said it was his Crohns, it can affect them. His gums were very red, swollen and bleed a lot. Once we got the rest of his Crohns under better control his gums got much better.

What are these "teeth" you speak of? :p

Crohn's has affected my teeth both as a child and as an adult. Don't recall my tooth loss as a kid too much but I did have cavities often etc. As an adult I've had many root canals and have caps on many of my teeth.

Oh My goodness I just saw this thread. My Caitlyn has had terrible teeth issues her whole life. As a young child she had abcesses twice and now she broke one of her molars. It just cracked out of nowwhere. The dentist said bad teeth is genetic and not related to nutrition but I have to wonder if that is true especially after reading this!
