toothache and antibiotics

hello everyone. I have been having a horrible time with my teeth. About 6 months ago had pain on right side of jaw and cheeks, ears and dentist said tmj. He made me a mout h guard and seemed to help, but still slight pain. I had a tooth filled 1 month ago, which i told him to pull out but he said it would make my tmj worse. The is the last molar on my bottom right side and he said i need it for support. But also when i bite, the molars on right side bite first and i told him already 3 times and he did shave some off, but still the same. I saw him yesterday and he said he doesn't see it being like that. He gave me antibiotics to take 10 days and come back if pain is still there and he''ll pull it out. He took xrays and no infection. I'm thinking why should i take the pills if no infection. So i phoned there today and told them i;m not taking the antibiotics and want my tooth pulled because again he'll give me pills for the tooth extraction.
I just want it out. Do you think i'm doing right or should i take these antibiotics.

this happened to me too, in the end I had it out. Ironically, really weirdly, everytime the dentist gave me anti biotics, metronidazole (flagyl) it kicked started a flare. This is what they gave me in hospital last year for an infection in my TI, and it saved my life! Can't get me head round that one!
Have it out, and be done with it!

yes, they booked me for monday, so i will be getting it out. I never knew they give flagyl, the dentist, he always gives me amoxillan. That is something to think about when you flared with it and yet it helped your ti infection. This disease is so unpredictable.

Okay i got my tooth out today and i explained to dentist assistant about my ibd and she asked dr. if it was okay i don't take the antibiotics and he said okay but to rinse with salt water the next 10 days and to take the antibiotics if my pain doesn't go away. Has anyone here had a tooth extracted and didn't take antibiotics.

please any info on antibiotics

Hi everyone, not doing too good today. I had alot of d at one sitting. Now i notice its a little more redder on tooth extractionsite. I did take the antibiotics for 4 days and then got bad cramps but no d, so stopped them on sat night. I'm going to dentist tommorrow and if it is infected what do i do. I can't take any right now. I have to treat it if is infected. I just feel horrible and pray its not infected. Please some info, did this happen any of you and what did you do.
