Hello all from a wet FNQ,
My husband recently visited a Chinese Medicine Doctor. The Dr gave him a mix of dried herbs to be made into a drink & taken daily. The change has been quite remarkable. He currently takes 75mg of mercaptopurine daily & was suffering with fatigue and poor health before commencement of the TCM. He claims his energy levels are fantastic & he feels great.
He also had what his GI believed to be scar tissue from recurring perianal abscesses. He has told me that it has gone. He also has trouble shifting minor ailments since commencing the mercaptopurine. He has suggested my husband taper off the mercaptopurine (slowly) & see how he feels. His next GI appointment isn't until June as i guess they believe him to be in remission.
I am very happy to see my husband feeling the best he has for almost 2 years. He's gained a little weight & seems happier. I should also add that a friends friends (a male Paramedic in his 40's) was also diagnosed with CD last year & has also been treated by the same Chinese Medicine Dr & refused to take the medicine prescribed be his GI due to side effects & according to my friend he is doing great too.
So to finish up i was just wanting to know if anyone else has been treated with TCM & should he taper? Thanks everyone
