I will be travelling to India this weekend for few days...(First time after DX Crohn). There I will attend marriage :lol2:

Will land first at Delhi and then will go to Rajasthan via road.I think journey by road will be of more then 6 hours.

Can any one suggest/help me what care and precaution I should take.

I am worried a bit as I most of the time go to toilet in urgency...

Please guide !!!

Have you checked with your GI whether it's safe to take anti-diarrhoea medication? I can't personally but the GI nurse told me that it's sometimes OK, depending on the state of your disease. I would also recommend wearing faecal incontinence pads (the proper sort, not the bladder ones or feminine products) as they give a little reassurance and prevent a horrible mess if the worst happens, though they don't disguise smells, unfortunately. Good luck with your journey and I hope you have a good time at the wedding.

Hi Sunit, I hope you consulted your GI before planning the trip. We are going to India in May and our GI just gave us the okay. He said he will give us a batch of antibiotics, just in case. I would suggest you have breaks in between your road trip, because you would definitely need bathrooms if you are flaring currently. Do not use public restrooms for fear of infections. Go to a proper hotel/restaurant. Have a lot of baby wipes with you to avoid being sore.

In terms of food, definitely avoid spice. It will be heaven eating home food after many years, but you SHOULD avoid oil, spice and junk wherever you go. Have a lot of protein like dal and consume turmeric in most foods.

Ask your GI if you need to carry any medication with you. I hope you have a safe and good trip :)

Thanks Lizzie and Aarthi

All these are valuable advise will surely help me !!!

Will update how my travel went when I am back :) hopefully it goes well
