Hi All

I had some small & large bowel removed 6 weeks ago and an ileostomy!! I have been getting better day by day but then last week I woke up with really bad tummy pain to the point where I couldn't stand up & had to get in weird positions on the bed to ease it!!!
My stoma output was normal so knew I didn't have a blockage!! After some tramadol and an hour of laying there I got better but still could feel a dull ache all day!!! Thought my problem could have been due to wind I did have some fizzy pop night before ooooops!!! That night my sleep was then disturbed also by my legs with pains & aching from top to bottom. Id have to move into a different position and stretch my legs for it to bugger off!! But then It would come back again!! This has been happening since some nights worse than others and Ive had cramping in the back of the tops of my legs!! I can sometimes feel the aches during the day but it dosnt bother me as much as at night!!
I had tummy ache again last night after my tea but wasnt as bad as other day took some pain killers and it was gone again by morning!! TBH I have been diagnosed with crohns for 10 years and never really had problems with bad tummy pains before the surgery!! Just wondered if anyone has experienced anything similar? I have been to the docs and im awaiting blood tests to check my levels on certain things!! I am due a B12 Injection nxt month!! I am quite worried about it. Just couldnt deal with anything else going wrong with me at the minute!! :-( Anyones Advice would be much appreciated!! xx

Hi there and sorry you haven't received a reply until now :(

Are your legs swollen as well?

Due to your somewhat recent surgery, my best suggestion would be to put in a call to your doctor and discuss your symptoms with them. I realize that doesn't help much this second, but I think it would be a good idea.

*hugs* to you.

Hi David!!

Thanku for your reply. No my legs arnt swollen!! The cramping and pains seem to have eased off slightly!! I am still awaiting my blood test results I had last week to see if that shows anything!! Hope you are well x

Hi AmyLou, I have had similar problems. I used to put a pillow between my knees in bed to ease my legs. I have now got an extra matress on my bed as I could not get comfy. I am much better now. I have had some stomach pain too. Right in the middle of my stomach though. I assumed it was just post op pain. It happens in the middle of the night. In the early days I would have to get up in the night and sit in a chair to ease the pain. Now I am 5 months on, the pain is only slight.

I hope you feel better soon,

Love Kaz xxx
