Two large pimple-like boils on my butt. could they be an absess?

Hi everyone. I am new here and I'm a chronnie too!

I have had these two pimple-like things on both my right and left cheek, similar spots near my butt crack. At first i thought it was just pimples but its been over two months and they are not healing or disappearing.

Could they be a fistula or abscess? I am having my 3rd colonoscopy done in two day and a bit scared of what the GI will rule it as.

Please somebody try and advice and calm me down!haha:redface:

sounds like erythema nodosum i think thats what i have. it accompanys a Crohn's flare with head aches, fever, joint and muscle pain.best relief i had was when i was on prednisone.but that is a whole another misery.best of luck to you.

Erythema nodosum is very painful. I got these on my legs before, they also don't last for months in the same spot. The hard nodule of the erythema nodosum lasts maybe a week and then slowly flattens out and what looks like a bruise will remains for a little while longer. When I got EN on my legs it felt like my legs were on fire when i went from a seated position to standing. Is there a whitehead on the what you think is a pimple? Pimples resolve in a few weeks and wouldn't be in the same spot for 2 months-are you on immunosuppressant meds which would delay healing? I haven't had a fistula so can't comment on what those look like.

My fistulas were small holes through the skin that drained. My abscess was a hard painful lump that made sitting difficult. If they haven't changed in two months, odds are that they are neither. Hope you get some answers soon. :ghug:

Have you looked into pilonidal sinuses/cysts?
